According to Panamanian government data, between 2010 and 2020, a total of 115,758 people from various countries in the Global South crossed the Darien Gap.

In those 10 years, only 238 of the people counted were Venezuelans.

Figures 2021

In 2021, the total number of people who crossed was 133,729.

That year, the number of Venezuelans was 2,819.

Figures 2022

In 2022, the total number rose to 284,284 people, with 150,327 Venezuelans.

Figures 2023

In 2023, the total number reached 520,085 people, 328,650 of whom were Venezuelans.

January - May 2024

Between January and May of 2024, a total of 170,014 people crossed the Darien Gap, of which 109,895 were Venezuelans.
